bearshare probs?

anyone else having probs with bearshare? i cant get into it anymore and i get a message when i turn my pc on that there is a generic error and all files have been saved for possible diognoses?

i thought site was closed down but still works for some people.

anyone else have this prob? should i delete it and re install it again?

I have the latest pro version with the crack if you want.

Uninstall the old bearshare (dont worry your download folder will be ok) then reinstall the new bearshare and it will be ok.

I also have some good tips to optimize bs if you want.

And its the retail version so all you do is Unpack and install.

riht i just uninstalled bearshare and lost all my downloads!

they are def not on my desk top or in my documents!

i thought i wouldnt lose them? help!

i reinstalled bearshare there andi got the files back but i am still getting generic error? thought it would work again. i have no idea wy its done that. can anyone shade some light?

Q: BearShare crashes with error ".\GLibraryWatchDb.cpp (#176) Fatal Error: Unable to load library database."
A: Do you have a spyware checker on your computer? If you do, please scan your computer for spyware as we have seen some forms of it cause BearShare to crash. If you do not have one, there are several free ones available including ones from Spybot and Adaware.

We have released a new version of BearShare, version 5.2 that should fix this error. You can download it from here: https://download.bearshare.com/BSPROINSTALL.exe

If after this upgrade you still have trouble with BearShare, please try the following steps:

While BearShare is NOT running, look in the directory where it is installed (probably "C:\Program Files\BearShare"). You should see a couple of directories named "db" and "Temp".

First, rename "Temp" to "Temp2", then restart BearShare. If it works now, then the problem was somewhere in the configuration files now in "Temp2".

If that didn't solve the problem, then while BearShare is NOT running, rename "db" to "db2", then restart BearShare. If it works after that, then the problem was somewhere in the configuration files now in "db2".

Bearshare is good, but only if you can afford to lose your PC to spyware.

Installs save and other assorted shite.

Run adaware PRO just after installing it to get rid of it.

Thats why it is free, it is 'ad #upported'

Dont run the un-installer, just remove it with antispyware.

It does what you described anyway.
