Sad day for me today

Lost one of our lads in Bolton this morning.
He come off his Honda ST1300 Pan Euro head on into a HGV and was killed.
He will be sadly missed.

ALL Pan Euro's in the force are grounded.

Finally! They've grounded the pan euros! Any ides of the cause behind the accident, or is it suspected to be the throttle going ape again?

RIP, bike cops are amazing riders, far more skillful than i probably ever will be Sad

I think the problem with the Pan Euros was high speed wobbles. Confused

Sorry to hear it, RIP. Karma

I might be wrong, but the last guy to go into the side of a HGV had a throttle which stuck open on a slip road or roundabout or something iirc.

Sad Not Good Thumbs Down

After riding with a couple of police bikers on the bikesafe course, and seeing the experience and skills that those guys have, the fact that things can go wrong - even for them, just shows you that nothing is a certainty and that no matter how much training you have it only takes one second. Nothing more, nothing less - just that single second where anything can happen.

My thoughts with his family and the rest of the force as said above Thumbs Up

He's younger than me too, a husband, a dad and someones son..
Makes me feel like hanging up my gloves.

Shocked SHIT!

Just seen the story on BBC News, my thoughts go out to his family.

And it just shows you no matter how much training you have it can all still go wrong. Sad

And surely if it turns out to be the bikes fault surely Honda are gonna have to do something about these deathtraps of ST1300's? Confused
