A tip off to anyone looking to purchase an mp3 player, get one of these they are the dogs bollocks I cannot stand poor quality sound, and this combined with a pair of senneheiser ear canal buds which seem obscenely bassy and clear for something so small, produces quality better than I thought mp3's were capable of.

Very easy to use, functional menus no BS features clogging up navigation of music, mp3 transition is exceedingly fast. Complete with large colour screen. takes jpeg images too. (Including ID3 Album art)
Plays mp3 and wma files.
Buttons are well layed out, the touch sensitive inner keys are amazingly accurate and responsive, no 1press = 2 or more, and no matter where you are in the menu you are the analogue buttons on the outside of the touch pad always do what the symbol says, while looking through your music collection or pics you can still change tracks on the playlist you are currently listening to.
Got my 4Gig flash based little yp z5 for £130, even uses UPS, drag and drop on an mp3 player with not much more meat on it than the Ipod Nano, or can sync with WMP10.
And, the real arse kicker, 35hr battery life, which I have yet to test out but if true takes the competition right up the turnip.

Is a blatant Ipod copy, and in my eyes escpecially for the money, it kicks it to hell, no more fragile HD's on a tiny device, or the CUNTING file conversions. And best of all, NO ITUNES!!

Use it as a flash key 4Gig of memory for whatever, and amazing sound, brushed aluminium facia which is well scratchproofed.

I have owned many mp3 players, and this one is the mutts nutts through and through.
Apple have been truly owned in my opionion in terms of the core functionality, to play music.

Disadvantages - Only supplied charger is USB only.
The supplied headphones are gash.

I would reccommend looking no further for an mp3 unit with a good amount of memory AND the UPS file management.

And no before I am accused I am in no way affiliated with Samsung or the sales of this product, just a very satisfied customer.

I've been bordering on buying one of these (either this or a ipod nano) for use on the bike whilst commuting, gym etc..

On a bike would have one advantage I can think of, you can click through songs with it in your pocket, no need for the hold feature as the select button on the touch pad is also a clicker so won't bugger up what your doing.

For headphones i'd reccommend the senneheiser ones pc world sell, you know the rubber bud ear canal ones, very bassy and clear, come with 3 sizes of buds. not sure of exact model but i'm sure they can be found on the net for less than the £40 I paid.

Samsung make good mp3s Shame its not a bit cheaper than the nano as nanos, for what they are, are well over priced.

I use a samsung YP-U1 2 gb, cost me £80 brand new, only downside i would say is the battery as it doesnt last anywhere near as long as the claimed 10 hours.

On a related note I bought a Sandisk Sansa e260 (pic) about a week ago and it's also pretty damn fantastic. Flash memory so I can use it for cycling without worrying it'll die if I go over a bump and also good sound quality etc. 4 gb is just about enough that you can have one load of songs on for a week or two without getting bored and then you can just put some others on afterwards.

It's also got a decent quality screen and supports video, so if you're stuck on a plane or something you can catch up on your favourite TV series etc. Tbh I think you'd be mad to want to watch a full length movie on a screen that small, but you could if you wanted.

Similar problem with the charger on the Sansa, but you can pick up a USB charger for a fiver and it works just fine. Cheapest I've seen in the UK is £125 from Amazon. Not that cheap but compared to a shitePod it's a bargain for what you get.
