I prefer the cold personally!

When your cold you can put stuff on or have a bath etc to warm up, when your too hot what you gonna do? peel off a few layers of skin?

Everyone is such a bunch of whingers! Its realy starting to get to me now!

During the winter everyone complains about how cold it is, and how wet things are, and how they cant do this and that because its too cold!

Well supprise supprise - Its Summer! ITS HOT! But wait, you cant do this and you cant do that now either can you? No because you get a sweat on, or because its just "too hot".

Jesus. I mean yeah, this summer is hot - but just shut up and enjoy it, get a chair out in the garden if you dont wanna run around outside doing energetic things - just shut up about it because guaranteed your the same person who cries about the wind / rain when it gets here too!

Damnit.

i just go with the flow. if i'm to warm i'll stand behind a fan or air conditioning. or in the house i'd open a window.

winter i just put a few extra layers on. or pump up the heating

summer, by far is worse, in winter when its cold, no matter what, you can always warm up

you cant necessarily always cool down

-you get headaches from the heat in summer
-you cant sleep properly in summer
-you cant exert yourself without dripping with sweat
-cant hold tools properly with sweaty dripping hands
-being hot and bothered makes it all the more difficult and frustrating to use the UK road system, so by default, biking will always suck (for me) in the summer

ideal time seems to be the tail end of summer, around october time, low to mid 20's is the temperature you want

i reckon also that anyone who works in a manual type job rather than inside somewhere with air conditioning will agree with me

I rarely moan about the cold... I much prefer cold, as said you can easily warm up, but when its hot you can't cool down!

Over winter I rode my bike LOADS more than during summer, maybe its just becuase stunting for me is mostly low speed which means no wind to keep me cool, its very hot at the minute for riding around slowly!

The best time is beggining and end of summer, when its dry and bright and roads are dry and sticky-enough but the temperature is relatively cold.. that's the best of both worlds Cool

It's also very hard work doing a non-office based job during summer! you office lot moaning when you're sat in a room with air con?! try doing some proper work in this weather... Shocked

only good thing about summer so far is its been so hot and sweaty that my trousers are now wayyy too big for me Laughing

Winter sucks. End of.
Its the dark mornings and early closing in nights I hate.
Don't mind wind, rain, cold (in small doses) but I HATE dark days and *bleagh* snow: frozen sperm of the devil Evil or Very Mad

This year has been the only year when I've not whinged about the hot weather, due to me having a bike. Sure, you get all hot in summer, but that's it. The roads are a lot dryer, they're stickier, there's no road salt to knacker you bike, no ice for you to slip on, your hands don't freeze if you don't put 10 pairs of gloves on, and you don't get a snot moustache when you take your helmet off.

Some people would whinge at anything Rolling Eyes

As the author of the thread and seeing everyone elses views about what's worse when on the bike...time to express my opinion!!

It's definitely Cold & Wet is worse. I think LuxyDJ summed it up rather well. Anyway - Hot & Sticky only happens for about a few weeks a year whereas Cold & Wet lasts for anything up to 4 months! Rolling Eyes

I LOVE the hot weather, I went out on my world tour last October and arrived back in May, its fab - I went from summer to summer to summer!!! Yeah!

I only like winter when it provides real decent snowfall, which blocks everyone in and then I can get out and go sledging, and not have to go to work or anything.

But wet and damp and pain and hobbling around with my knackered leg, pelvis and ankle is not what i call enjoyment at all! I never complain about the heat.

I can adjust to being too hot, I cant adjust to being to cold.

Hot and sticky is unpleasent - yes, but it doesn't remove your ability to ride a bike.

If it's too cold limbs go numb and you become unable to feel enough to actually operate brakes etc....

Enjoy the summer guys Thumbs Up It could be raining like last year.

I always stop myself when I come to complaining about the heat. Winter is miserable, cold and actually dangerous, the heat is nothing more than uncomfortable.
I can imagine if you have to commute on the bike then it could be seen as worse as you turn up to work sweating.
This summer on weekends I have just got up early when it's cool enough for a ride, sat around getting tanned and barbecueing, and then going out again in the evening. Perfect.
Enjoy it while it lasts folks. Surely we haven't forgotten about those aching cold fingers and numb toes!!

Go and do a search for threads from November/december just to appreciate who lucky we are!

The only problem I have with the summer is that I've had to work during the hottest patches of weather and when I booked time off it starts to rain. Thumbs Down

I only complain about it being too hot in work, it's never too hot outside.

Definately hot and sticky anyday.

Sometimes feel like crying when I can't physically pull in the clutch because my name has been changed to "Frosty".

Least now the sweat can enhance the UV rays and give me some tannage quicker.
