Right.

At the moment im on my home PC which has an internet connection.

On my laptop, i have some mobile phone videos (.3gp files).

Is there some kind of software that is capable of playing these files? I'd have to save it to disk then put it onto my laptop.

you'll find that VLC will play ANY kind of audio/visual file...and it's FREE

But its crash’s regularly and the GUI would never win any awards. Having said that, I haven't used a recent version - or tried skins

My favourite is BSplayer which is free (from torrent site's Laughing)
BSplayer can play: avi, cda, dat, divx, m2v, m2p, m3u, mkv, mp3, mp2, mpeg, mpg, ogg, ogm, pls, vob, wav, wmv & Divx/Xvid

VLC is great BUT ... and I never thought I'd say this ... I've got a couple of AVI's that VLC doesn't play. What does ? WMP 11 !!!!!!! Oh My God !

VLC tends to have added bonuses... open a flick with it, and if it starts to play it then close it and open it with some other vid software... VLC tends to share all it's retrieved codecs with any other player on the system so once IT can play `em, so can more or less everything else...
