Top end rebuilds

Hi guys been lurking on this site for a while now and having just done my CBT I have my eye on a RS125.

I am going to have a look at one in a few days and am wondering how I can tell if the engine needs rebuilding and what are the characterisitcs I am looking for, when I have a short test ride.

Also are there any other things that are particular to the RS that I should be looking for [apart from the usual bike maintainence]
