Chav's Stole All Our Bikes!!

Just thought i'd tell you about the lucky, maybe not so lucky, escape we had with our bikes the other night.

I was woke about 3am on Monday morning by the police. When i got down stairs the garage door was open and the garage was empty. All out bikes had been nicked.

All that was left was my rat bike left outside with a lock on it. My brothers 50cc Derbi had been taken, and my dads recently complete Honda VF400 project bike. His Honda CB125 had also gone.

In the distance the police heard bikes and made off after them. Thankfully the thieving little shits had only just managed to get the bikes going and where disturbed by the police. They all jumped back into the stolen car and where chased into town and into one of the housing estates. One was nicked but the rest escaped. Turns out the kid who was nicked only left prison 2 days previous.

Me and my dad walked down the street and found the 125 and 50 in the middle of the road, lights on and still running after being hot wired. However his 400 was nowhere to be found.

The next morning we went for another walk to find the fuse boxes, barrels etc that had been ripped off. After a bit of searching the 400 was found in a ditch on its side, thankfully it had landed softly and had little damage.

All the bikes are now back home in the garage, all the ignitions are mashed and the older bikes are almost certainly write offs. To top it off all my fishing gear was nicked, around 600 quid of gear. And the cherry on top of the cake is that we had no contents insurance.
Dads philosophy is that 'If you have contents insurance your planning to be burgled'. How stupid is that!!
Same as his crash bung philosophy of 'If you fit them your planning to fall off'.

Non of the bikes in the garage where locked and the garage door itself is knackered. To be honest i'm hardy surprised they where nicked.

Keep your bikes safe. Don't let them thieving bastards have them.

Im guessing youll be doing alot of DIY using armour plated metal and missle launch pads over the weekend

Its not the first time either. And we live about 10 miles from the Chav infested town of GRIMsby!!

The last time it happened my GPZ305 was wheeled down the street. They where chased off by my dad wearing only his underwear. Not a pleasant sight (Reminiscent of the simpsons episode of Homer chasing Bart Indiana Jones style)

That was 2 years ago and his plan after that was to fit alot of security. Homemade reinforcements, locks etc. Nothing ever came of it.

I ended up fitting a ground anchor myself and buying a decent chain and alarm.

still if they werent locked and the garage door is knackered then you only have yourself to blame for them nicked. if they were locked etc then it would be different.

Your totally right mate.
I used to come in every night (After locking my bike to the ground anchor) and tell him his bike was not locked and there was no steering lock on. He still did nought about it.

My GPZ400R is only a rolling chasis, at the moment, but i still lock that to a ground anchor and have a disc lock on it.

My dads far to lax on security and i told him this would happen one day.

my mate who used to live in my house had his bike stolen from the garage that i kept tmy bike in after the door was also knackered. they used to for a robbery but he got it back somehow, (he knew people, whatever that means) and tey went to prison. my bike escaped that at the time.

at least you got the bikes back, better than being left with none but i would still be livid that the cheeky c*nts thought of taking it and wreaking them in first place. they must have been watching.

I spent over a grand making sure my bike is safe and its not been nicked so far. £800 on a bikesafe garage, £200 on a chain lock and disc lock, £280 on a bike alarm, so if it gets nicked from my house i'd like to catch the thief and shake his hand

what really gets me is the fact that we have to secure our property like fort knoxx..... we shouldnt have to!!
im looking into getting a decent chain and lock at the mo, and they aint cheap!! i'd rather use that money for fuel so i could enjoy my bike, but no, because of the thieving little scumbags of this world ive got to spend a fortune just so they cant get hold of it.
and then if i caught one trying to nick it, and i dealt out some 'therapy', i'd be in more trouble than they would have been for all their crimes put together!

I like your way of thinking Siggi. These people, sorry scum, need to be taught a lesson.

As already said though if we got scum who did it, and did mash his hand, it would be me that gets in trouble. Theres no justice in this country.

Anyway where off to the police compund to get one of the bikes back from testing. Finger prints and whatever else they do. Hopefully it wont be too much to repair.

Sorry, but your dad sounds a bit of a boob. Whou would realise that insurance was planning for the worst case scenario and then ignore it. Not only that, but encourage the worst case scenario to happen by having a knackered garage door and not locking the bikes up.

Hope it is a case of lesson learned and at least you got them back without too much damage
