Helmet Help.

Sorry for the boring thread but i've done a search on the helmets i'm looking at and found very little. And it's a situation where i really can't decide between a few different helmets, mainly because i know very little about helmets but also because i can't see any obvious differences there could be value wise?

The helmets i've been looking at are the...

HJC CS12
KBC (whatever model is going to be around the £100 mark)
Shark RSF-2
AGV K series
Roof Boxer
Some Arashi one that i've never really heard of but is really quite comfortable.

I have tried on the AGV and the Shark. Both felt very comfortable and the only thing that swayed me between them was the fact that i can get Matt Black colour in the AGV!

I've been trying to find a place thats local that does HJC helmets but with no luck, and obviously i don't want to buy without trying on. I have heard though that the HJC CS12 is a great helmet for the money.

I was also told by my A2 instructor that KBC are good value, undrerated lids that are as good as helmets out there that are twice the price. Are they?

Help/ opinions/ experiences would be appreciated guys

P.S. I don't care about graphics etc by the way, ideally i'm looking for a gloss/ matt black.

Lol nah twas' definately Arashi because the guy at the store was saying how they weren't that well known but were a good helmet.

Can't afford an Arai unfortunately

they claim to make the lightest helmets commercially available....or did until people started making carbon fibre ones

apparently they are ok, tho sumwhat unheard of. Get whatever fits best. looks and vents, etc... *should* be considered after this. There wont be a huge difference in the safety offered between a £100 and £500 lid. There will be some, but not much. just choose the one you like really.

Well i've pretty much come to the conclusion now that it's going to have to be down to the Shark and the AGV asi've not been able to find anywhere reasonably locally that has KBC and HJC lids to try on. I was liking the KBCs aswell.

Any opinions on the quality on AGV and Shark lids? As i've seen mixed views on both on here.

HJC cs-12

Saved my head in a wreck, comfy well priced, but wind noise pics up over 40mph and if you dont shut the visor tidy it sounds like a train.

But to be honest I find most lids are noisey

AGV feel weak if that makes sence the flex way to easy and are really light and also very noisey too

Buy the one that fits best, if they fit the same, buy the one that has the best vents etc, if that is too close, buy the cheaper one, if that is too close, buy the one you LIKE (also check visor availability).
