Lack of solidarity inside the M25?

Strange thing I've noticed in the past 2 months of commuting in from Oxford.

All the way up to the M25 (from Oxford), doesn't matter if you're on a motorway, dual carriage way, b road twisty, whatever,.......bikers acknowledge bikers.

Then, as soon as you hit the M25 or delve into it, that's it, no more friendly waves or nods or anything. WHY?

It doesn't take much to dip your head for a second. Don't be sucked in by those bastard couriers who don't give a monkies about anyone. Ok fine don't nod at every single traffic light and everybody at the lights, but at least have the courtesy to acknowledge the numpty who is.

Anyway I've decided to make more of an effort, so if you see a black baby Gixxer with orange wheels and a guy standing up on his pegs saluting you, then the least you can do is tilt your head all of 2mm.

Because once you get onto the M25 you are more occupied with trying to stay alive as Southerners attack you from all angles, than waving at people.

Nod to every biker you see in London and you'll look like one of those churchill style car-dogs.
It's generally accepted that you don't as there's so many bikers in London.

I was thinking of the same, but for me it was bikers in herefordshire and worcestershire who dont nod. Travelling down the A49 from merseyside to south wales, I get nods back everywhere apart from central parts of herefordshire and worcestershire, the chopper and cruiser riders of south wales and chaps on classic or vintage bikes.

I noticed this recenently, when i went up to the highlands from london, the whole time i was outside the m25, everyone nodded or waved or did a little dance as they passed... the moment you get within the m25 you are cut up and ignored...

So it is definately a phenomina, but to assertain the cause.. ir lack or solidarity or consentration on staying alive i dont know... i still nod, usually get a nod if stoped at lights, on the move its more random
