ok as a supermoto rider myself i know alot about converting them
and im affraid its not as easy as just swapping the wheels
1 you need to find 17" wheels with the same size spindles as your trail wheels
2 once wheels are fitted you will find your stand too long so need a shorter stand
3 your caliper wont fit on to your supermoto 320mm disc talon make adaptor plates at around the £40 mark
4 now wheels are on brakes working and stand sorted your speedo is still set up for a 21" wheel no good at all i use a trail tech endurance didgi speedo about £120 for compleat speedo set up

all in unless you can find it all 2nd hand your looking at around £800 for a cheap convertion
oh yea i forgot you also have to get the shocks hardend up
best bit would be put good road tyres on the standard rims and live with it will still out courner must sports bikes
unless your planning on keeping the bike for years i wouldnt bother save the money pass test get a bigger 600cc trail bike and convert that or just buy a supermoto

Alternatively, you have 17" rims built onto your existing hubs for about £80 per wheel.

Then the only issue is the length of your sidestand, the accuracy of your speedo and the knotty question of if DT125 forks are far enough apart to take a wide enough tyre to have made it worth your while

Rather than basing wheel choice on spindle, you can often change the bearings on the wheel or get a thinner spindle with spacers either end.

However, another vote here for "don't bother" - get some half decent road tyres and you should have plenty enough grip.

Only think I'd consider upgrading is the front brake, if these are as weak as they often are.

A wide supermoto tyres does offer advantages over a road biased trail tyre for more powerful bikes, but you would have to be going at speeds that would see you dead pretty quickly to justify it on a 125, I would have thought.

Had you conisdered the tdr125? This is pretty much a DT125 sold as a 'factory' supermoto.

Ive found michelin siracs to be closest to road tyres for the DT.

And i get about 60 miles to a £7 tank and my bike gets thrashed every single second!
