NSR flasher relay

I would have posted this in the wanted section, but I need to ask a question too.

I need a flasher unit for the foxeye model, but I couldn't find 10w bulbs so I put the closest I could find, which were 6w. If I swap the resistor on the relay, would I be able to get the indicators to flash at the right speed? Am I right in thinking that if left as they are thay will flash too quickly?
