Yes, I do. Its something that comes with experience . The more miles you do on it the more you will begin to trust your bike and with that you wil start to enjoy it more.

J Thumbs Up

I think it also depends on whether it's the right bike for you. I know that I feel much more comfortable, confident and at one with my ZZR than I ever did on my previous bike, a GS500.

Yeah it does happen. I passed my test just under a year ago but have ridden in excess of 25,000 miles since passing. I'm not sure when it happened but at some point I stopped thinking about what I was doing, everything became automatic. What I did notice was I no longer felt like I was sat on the bike, I felt like I was sat in the bike. It's hard to explain really because I tend to shift my weight around a lot but without thinking. I also chuck my bike around, again, without thinking, I just don't notice myself doing it anymore.

Ahhhhhhhh that feeling. The one bike that made me totally feel that way was my old Mito. That was no bike with me on it, WE was the same thing. The same entity. When you get that feeling nothing else comes close. Very Happy

lol yeah, I know it sounds like a lot but it's easily done. It get's used just about every day both winter and summer. I just don't go near the car anymore. In fact, don't even know if it still works!
The old farts at the bike shop have labeled me a "proper 'ardened biker" and do nowt but poke fun at the wooly woofters on their fashion accessories wobbling about on a sunny sunday.

The saddle time certainly shows in my riding and it bloody well should too!

I've been riding just over 7yrs now and it comes in time, after my CBR's winter slumber, The first few miles feel weird but I soon get back into it and feel at one with my bike.
Thats dispite the fact I ride my 250 all year round.
Give it alittle more time and you'll get there, you just need to relax on the bike.

Even after over 3 years on the road I get days where I feel I can't ride for toffee and other days where it just all comes together and you ride perfect Cool

It's a cross between being the right bike for you, and experience IMO.
I hated my old CG125, just never felt happy or confident on it, moved onto my 600 Bandit and I really enjoy riding it, definitely know I made the right choice of bike for me, and i know with more experience i am going to become more and more confidence and enjoy it more and more Thumbs Up Smile .
I'm riding it at every opportunity i get at the moment, the other day I got it out and everything just to ride a 2 minute journey to post a letter Embarassed probably would have been faster walking! Laughing

you getter better all the time and it depends on how you feel at the time, when i did my cbt i was nervous as hell, very slow (2 slow had to go back next day for more training) and stiff and cooking it was very hot.
day after after some kip still nervous, but got on the bike and felt a lot better, not so ridged cooler weather helped as well. got rid of most of the oh shit im going to die when ever near a car etc. ok so this is only a few hours worth similar idea. cant wait untill bike on the road so i can get riding again been jsut over a year since cbt, i ride every now and again about the yard at home but going to bottom of drive means road 2 tempting.

25,000 miles bloody hell thats a lot of milage, how has the bike coped?

After a 2000mile trip to france 4years ago, it was the first time i have ever really felt 100% confident on my ZX6R. I had the bike for over a year before this, and i was still scared of it. On my trip to France, i got my knee down for the first time, exceeded 100mph for the first time, and i did a few wheelies and stoppies. I think i would have needed to have done maybe half a dozen track days or a track school day too at this point, and i would have been as confident as i ever could be by then!

Instead ive spent little time riding it in the last 2years, and when i took it for an MOT last year, i kept stalling it, jerking along in traffic, and scared i was going to drop it, doing slow speed manoeuvering. It felt horrible and un nerving, and ive not really ridden it since!

Experience gained from putting in hours and hours of riding time is the only way to ever feel happy with you and your bike's performance and capabilities. Do loads of miles, and spend several hours a week riding in all sorts of situations and weather conditions, and you will become a very good rider!

It's a bandit, providing I treat it to regular oil and filter changes it appears to be bulletproof. I know the majority of people don't have a good word to say about bandits but, for me, it was a good choice of bike.

Funny you should say that after having got a Hornet, now I was totally in love with the Hornet, told everyone I was getting one. Test rode it, but felt perched - it didnt feel right, so I ended up getting my Honda Bros 400, rode that until I was throwing it around like a toy, and opted to stay with the v-twin and got my sv. I love my sv, again I feel like me and her belong together when I ride, I dunno if its the style of the Hornet or what... but i just couldnt get on with it!

Maybe the same is happening with you? Did you test ride a few bikes before opting for the Hornet...?

Yep, i had the bike since Feb01, and i had never had the inclanation to want to go 100mph+ on it, just for fear of being caught speeding, when i need a license for work, and also because i knew it had cost me everything i had to afford a new ZX6R at the time and the insurance for it, so if i had of got points for speeding i would not have been able to afford to insure it back then, and having to sell it due to doing something silly would have really upset me!

As soon as I passed my test I too went out and brought a hornet 600, great first bike imo and got told much the same before I got it. At first it is a bit daunting but all you can do is keep getting out there. I used mine every day, rode all winter (cause I had to) and still do, over a period of time it just all comes natural and you will simply jump on your hornet without giving it a thought and away you go. Enjoy Mr. Green
