My new career (life) starts next week!

And its fair to say Im getting a little stressed

For those that don't know Im leaving my very secure, reasonably paid job and starting a franchise of a company (computer games store) I know from back up home.

As of next week I start my training while my shop's getting fitted out.

Now while Im 200 miles away from where the shops getting fitted out, I have to arrange for the alarm system, some how sort some staffing level (though tbh I see the first couple of weeks me being alone in the shop . .. hmm wonder what my mams doing... ), get my accounts in order, VAT, NI, PAYE and insurance stuff all sorted and then get down to the shop and start putting the stock in.

I've already got the possibility of some BCF members offspring interested in Saturday work, which is good as it helps with the trust factor etc if they are interested.

If Im really honest Im not that stressed, the only real worry is the staff which I know will get sorted as soon as Im open. Just would REALLY like it all in place before but its never going to happen.

The downside to this is the long hours Im going to be working now, the fact I intend on paying myself less than minimum wage (got to laugh otherwise I may just cry) and suddenly Im going to have less time to surf the internet (namely BCF!).

On the upside... I will be my own boss... and if its quiet I get to play computer games. (but its never going to be quiet, Im always going to be mega busy - positive thinking mode).

So when Im up and trading, probably about the 16th of August, I'll start to expect PM's from people asking what price I can get them so and so game for. Of course I will do what I can

The shops going to be in Dudley, in the Trident shopping centre on the high street.

It is indeed CHIPS Dodsi.

Will be selling console and pc games, consoles themselves and a few bits and pieces for pc's but not down to the level of components RAM etc. More just like gaming keyboards etc.

Will stock games for most formats, including some of the older ones.

If anyones in Dudley at any point feel free to come in and give me some grief. I'll not promise massive discounts, but I'll see what I can do for you guys.

Its took me this long Danny as I couldnt lay my hands on the money to do it before and also its taken me this long to build the courage up to leave my nice safe job.

If you're needing staff urgentish, remember it's summer holidays now, so I reckon you should be able to find /some one/ to keep you going for a while at least, until you can find some permanent staff.
Whether they'll be happy to be paid with "IOU"s and copys of not-yet-released games is another matter, though .
