I'm sure we've all experianced daunting journeys with hard looking taxi drivers. It's often polite to make light chat with them but it seems they get asked the same lines all the time? What soft of typical "taxi driver talk" do you say?

Examples, and some of my favourites:

"Are you busy tonight ?"
"What time are you working to?"
"Whats the Octavias like to drive ?"

"Hi.
How much is it gonna be?
Keep the change.
Thanks.
Bye."

That should be sufficient. Very Happy

My worst taxi experience was on my 25th bday, went to wolverhampton from stafford. With my pissed up sis and her b/f on way back get quote of £20. He stops so ben can puke, then stops for petroel, end of journey he tries to charge £25. Now i thought at this point that ben had already given him £20, so we point blank refuse to give him anymore (Ben didn't pay anything). End result, he locked us in the cab outside our house, so we're banging on the windows "let me out, we're being kidnapped" in true pissed up style. My sis calls the police from her mobile and tells them the taxi driver won't let us out. Two police cars and a riot van later we're all nicked, handcuffed the lot. Taken to the station where there's no cells left so they gave us a ride back home. Something like this happens everytime i go out with them Twisted Evil

But yeah "What time did you start?" "what time you on till?" "Been busy?" "I bet everyone asks you this don't they?"

usually make light banter about being a biker if i'm being chauffeured home from work for free.

they usually waffle on about how they used to be bikers back in the day and kept getting knocked off so gave it up.

this doesnt supprise me though as most of them drive like an 80 year old.

On the flip side being a taxi driver, I can say the most popular ones are:

"What time you start/finish?"

"Been busy?"

"Is this you're only job?"

"What car's this then?"

My favourite is:

"You're not trying to take the long route are you"

Why would I do that? I thought you were a s**t c**t anyway so I was just gonna overcharge you any which way I go.

Close second is:
"You look young for a cab driver"
Well I'm not actually a cabbie, I just nicked this from some old c**t 'cause I needed some dough for smack. Ever been 120mph in a 30 zone?

be nice to them or be quiet,

Taxi drivers more often than not have a button under the steering wheel which they press to up the fare if they have somebody in the back they don't like.

Either that or they will take the scenic route or stop for yellow lights (that said there was a formula for taxi drivers saying it was best for them to get lots of short fares as the std fee was more profitable than anything else).
