The other day I snapped my Front right hand side indicator whilst wheeling the Bandit into the garage, clipped my Dad's CB1300. So I set off today to get a replacement one.

I could have done a bodge job on my Bandit, but I couldn;t be arsed and seeing as my Dad's CB1300 is off the road due to being T-Boned a couple of weeks back I had only 1 option...The MIGHTY Suzuki GS125!!!

I was actually really looking forward to riding it for some reason, by the way I am insured as I am insured third party on any bike. So there I am at 8.30 with only a few clouds in the sky, in my leathers ready to mount the 125cc 4 stroke. OK I might have looked a tit in my leathers on a 125 but to be honest coming off at 60MPH on a 600cc bike or a 125cc is still gonna hurt just the same!

So I set off getting some fuel, £8 to fill the tank at 99.9p per litre! That's still cheap considering that tank will last about 3 weeks. At this point I already nearly got knocked off, I assume it's because of the lack of presence that you hold on a small bike, but it could have just been a dodgy driver.

I head to Yeovil on the A30, going up Windwhistle hill which is quite long and the bike is in top gear struggling to get above 50MPH, what fun! I have to drop down a gear but she still struggles, but it's alright cause i'm actually quite enjoying the ride. I finally hit the magic 60MPH on a flat stretch but i'm almost at redline!!! so 60MPH it's gonna be for the journey.

I get to Yeovil and I have to order an indicator for £24 WTF?! Suzuki Rip Off Parts I bet. I also have the most disgusting Bacon and Sausage baguette roll, well actually it was the minging Tomato Ketchup, shoulda used Heinz. Wink

I set off home and it's quite an uneventful journey, apart from the close call almost collision with a car when overtaking a Tractor, I also double overtook some cars downhill, slow drivers. Pah.

In conclusion, there is not actually much wrong with a 125 4t, they are reliable, cheap to run and actually quite fun, could have many adventures with one if they put their mind to it. Wheelies are pretty much impossible, but when I pulled the clutch in, in 3rd gear I did feel a nice lurch that I reckon could get the front wheel up in 1st or 2nd.

Throughly enjoyable ride. Thumbs Up

Damn straight!!!

There's something really quite enjoyable about wringing the neck out of a 4t 125's engine. Perhaps it makes it all that more fun knowing that it's not the only bike you have. Laughing

125's all the way. Thumbs Up

P.S CB1300? Kept that one bloody quiet!! Picie Piccie Piccie Piccie!

Fair play mate, you must have really looked after that, and done hundreds of oil changes on it, for it to still be running so well after all these years! Your CB125 would be the twin carb 16bhp version i presume, being a pre 82 bike? Now that was a fast bike for a 125cc four stroke!
