 |

Hi
Is it possible to get into southern Ireland with just your car/bike license?
My friend went ahead and booked a trip and keeps assuring me that they will only need to see your photo license, I have had a look at some websites and it all seems some what confusing.

Legally it is allowed that Irish citizens can travel to the UK and vice versa with no ID, under an agreement between the UK and Ireland.
In actual fact, it comes down to what your ferry company allows.
If they won't accept you presenting your Driving Licence only, it won't happen.
Ryanair will allow you to fly on your Driving Licence photocard, but I guess that's no use if you want to take the bike.

Ah thanks for that, just got confused from the info I was seeing on various sites.
Looking really forward to it now, only worry I have now is how they are going to strap the bike up without marking all the paintwork.
I checked and we are going with Stenna line from Fishguard to Rosslare, so all is good by the looks of it.
Can't wait to try a propper guiness! ____________________ 2004 RSV Factory

Good point dragonfly, had better check to make sure I'm covered, (think I am).
Smoke? nah, passive smoking from all my family is enough to cope with. ____________________ 2004 RSV Factory
