First, i apologise if there are thousands of these threads clogging up the site!

I`m gonna need to replace my tyres soon, and i`m looking for a good all-round tread for my 636.

Unreasonable requirements
1. Best grip in the world
2. lean angles of 89 degrees
3. 114,000 mile range
4. Under a tenner

Realistic requirements
1. Decent range
2. Decent grip
3. Decent price

I`m not a particuarily fast rider, i don't lean like a hero, but i do cover alot of miles. I need something thats gonna last for a bit, but not leave me on my arse if i do want to thrash it.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Sam

your pretty limited to rubber due to the weird front tyre size/profile.
120/60 or 65 isn't it?

My usual reccomendation is a part worn supercorsa front and fairly sticky road rear. I've got a SC front and an 010 rear on a couple of bikes, seems to work.
Both tyres got 'part worn', total cost about £50.
The front Supercorsa lasts decently and I've got 010s for not that much with plenty of life left.

"Don't ride like a hero" can mean a lot of things, but this combo will give you very good grip for the road and should last a few thousand miles which is good value if you can get the tyres fairly cheaply.

Fairly common size and more to the point, sticking a higher (120/70) profile tyre on there won't be a problem - anyone that races or has a track one will have a 70 profile on the front.
