Was thinking about this earlier...

Usually the final gear ratio on chain drive bikes is the teeth on front / teeth on back, yes?

Was just wondering how this applied to belt driven bikes? Would it be the size of the front and rear 'wheels' that the belt is attached to?

For example if the front 'wheel' had a diameter of 6cm, and the rear a diameter of 12cm, that would be a final drive ratio of 2?

Just trying to get me head round gears...Lol, thanks for any advice.

Belt drive bikes have teeth the same as chain drive ones.

Ok so are belt drive 'Sprockets' shown as a number (As usual with Chain Drive) IE: 13/47 or is there a different system used to express belt drive final drive ratios.
