Word Games For Children

I need to write some word games for special needs kids.

Currently i have done crosswords, hangman and wordsearches.

Does anyone have any sugguestions for others and any decent websites or information on it?

Can be as simple or complicated as you can think of. Ideally quite easy to write and do though. Thumbs Up

Dunno if this helps, but my kids play an easier version of countdown at school and they love it.

can you access board games? junior scrabble.

i used to work with special needs kids also.

why dont you write all the letter on paper stick them in a hat and pull one out and see how many words they get with them. bit like blockbusters i suppose but bit more exciting choosing someon to pick from the hat and think of words.

Sorry i should have made it a bit clearer. I don't work with them we create assessment files and age appropriate workbooks.

I am trying to write a few fun games for children to do but struggling to find games i can turn into paper based.

Examples of stuff we make can be seen here if you wanna see. You need pdf though.

Sometimes i get on a roll and can write absolutely loads or sometimes like today i can do basically nothing. Confused

A really simple one is to give each child a word of their own, they then ask each other questions whilst moving around the room about the word they have (they aren't allowed to say what the word it).

The game finishes when each child has found someone with either the same word (a simple version) or a related word (more complicated)
