Some damage in need of repair....

Was cleaning the Qwak at the weekend, i got a bit sloppy and stupidly used the rough side of one of those two sided sponges with the rough nylon part to get off hard dirt.
It has created very small circular scratches on my grey swing arm, it is obviously ally, coated with the grey stuff.
Is there any way of making it look a bit better?

Also on the VFR there are some small scrathes near the pillion seat where some clothing has been from someone on the back. What do i use to get this looking better?

And finally i have 2 small stones chips on the metal red tank of the vfr, anything recommended for this?

Autosol for the swingarm and T-Cut for the plastics.

Autosol is the metal polish, not the brand - you get it in small tubes.

If you live near a hein gericke go there, halfords is a rip for autosol.

If its paint autosol probably wont help but tcut will.

How deep are the scratches? Is it a machined or painted finish on the swingarm? Presumably the 'rough' side of your sponge is like a brillo pad...

If it's painted, I'd opt for a respray - depending on how good a match you can get, either localised, or along the side of the effected area.

If it's a machine finish, I think Autosol might be too harsh - you may end up just magnifying the problem. Brasso, or better still, Belgom Alu may allow you to lightly polish out the marks (I used Belgom Alu to polish out light blemishes in paintwork - it even leaves a layer of wax protection).

Difficult to advise completely without having the damaged surface in front of me, hope that helps.

i used t cut on my scooter and thats plastic made it look good as new, just be gentle Thumbs Up

T Cut can be a bit harsh, especially if you are not used to using it.
I would try a cutting polish first of all, may take a bit longer but much more controllable. Something like Auto Glym Cutting Polish is a good one. If you are going to use T-cut them use a damp rag to apply it.
