And when you go to the post office make sure you only hand them the documents they need or you will be subjected to the sighing, paper shuffling glare as they leaf through your insurance docs to find the certificate.

they let me tax it with a cover note and i only had 2 days remaining on that cause the insurance forgot to send me a full one. was ok for me.

yeh, they won't let you i'm afraid. same thing hapened to me.

my 17th birthday was on the 5th February, which is when my insurance started at midnight. I wanted to go out for a midnight ride as I'd had the bike in my garage since october and was absolutely desperate to start riding!

I went to the post office to get it taxed on the 4th but because my insurance didn't start until the next day they wouldn't let me. Well frustrating! Their excuse was that I could cancel the insurance before it started. Doesn't make any sense because I could cancel it anyway after! arh well, silly system, and annoying for everyone wanting to ride straight away on the 125's when they're 17!
