I have just bought a Kawasaki ZX10, Lovely machine but the balance shaft seal leaks and drip straight onto the exhaust.
Does anybody know if this can be fixed without having to split the crank case

yep just pops out, see manual for re seting shaft procedure, or if your very carefull you won`t upset it in the first place.

If the seal will just pull out (not familiar with the exact one you are talking about), carefully screwing in a couple of self-tapping screws and then pulling on their heads will have it out easily.
