hi,
ive been looking at 400cc bikes for next year (to restrict to 33hp), but i saw a guy on a bandit today, or a similar type bike and i just adored it, the whole way it went, sounded and looked really make me stare (not the best thing when i was meant to be listening to the gf!) but can anyone recomend a similar bike?
either a bandit 600 or a other brand bike, and what sort of things to look out for and money etc..
cheers
dan

Actually, a Divvy will serve you fine as a first bike. Smile

Was it a faired or unfaired one you seen? I have an unfaired Bandit and its great, although I have heard not so good restricted. You can get a 400 though which may be better at 33bhp.

i saw a burgandy (sp) unfaired one, it was gorgious. before i'd been looking at honda VFR400's and CBR400's but seeing the bandit my whole idea of a "gorgious piece of machinery" has changed..
ive seen diversons before and i really don't like them for some reason, sorry but hope all goes well with getting rid Cool

My first bike in10yrs is a K4 600 Bandit and i love it, other bikes similar to look at are the honda hornet and the yamaha fazer but i dont know about the restriction side of things, and they have to be the unfaired version but thats just me..

I know im Selling it so it sounds biased but whats not to like about it, does what it says on the tin, good first big bike, similar in looks to the bandit but has'nt started an 'ugliest bike thread' like the bandit.
Sorry just dont really like the bandit, people who like the divvy tend not to like the bandit and likewise visa versa and everyone whos had opinions seem to follow suit.
I dunno why they are simiar guess theres just that 'Something'
Hope you find the bandit of your dreams Thumbs Up
Oh and its not so much getting rid, that makes it sounds like its useless, its just been superseeded thats all. Cool

Not the naked version though, Although when I was looking I looked at the Diversion as I like Yamaha as never gave me any bother in the past. Good bikes Thumbs Up I would go for the Diversion over the faired bandit.

I love my bandit 400, Great bike. If you are going tp get one, make sure it is a import, they have the variable valve timing giving it more HP. It also has a complete stainless exhaust as standard and they have twin discs up front unlike the UK versions. And I'm not sure what they are like with restrictors as mine erm... fell out? Twisted Evil I have herd that the 600 doesn't take to restrictors too well but I'm not too sure how true this is?

i went into the local bike shop today and they had a hornet in there, and that looked similar and he said "it pushes out more power..." and then some more mumbo-jumbo about compression ratios and other stuff...
but what u think?

The newer Hornets are very nice, infact I prefer them to the Bandit and Honda quality is great, better than Suzuki. I'm pretty sure he is correct on them making more power too, I think they are just a little more sporty and less commuterish looking than the Bandits too.
