I have an I3 and it's brilliant!

OK it's no where near as good as GPS units like Garmins 2610 or TomToms Rider but for the price it's great!

It's not waterproof, only does point A to Point B but it's bloody cheap!

I was at first worried about the small screen but as it turns out its not a problem.

You can upload loads of Point of Interest (Banks, petrol stations, KFC's etc - all for free!) and you can even upload the speed camera database (for a small charge of £2 per month) and then it acts as a GPS based speed camera warning system. - all for under £100!

I still carry and use maps, even when using a Garmin 2610!

Biggest problem is late night drops in the middle of nowhere.

You have a house name, a road and if you're really really lucky a full postcode.

Years ago I did a delivery to Plumpton Green down near Brighton. The address was...

Something house
Station Road
Plumpton green.

Station road was 4 miles long and each unnamed road off Station rd the council had listed as station rd. Even the Post master who I met in the Pub didn't know the address. There was also a small blizzard blowing. Left the package with the pub landlord in the end and it was picked up in the morning.

If I'd had GPS and a postcode it would have been easy.

This looks quite interesting....i do a lot of, well random riding (ie ona sunday just head out and go somewhere)

So this could be some use to me and for £100 it can't be bad.

BUT, big BUT....how do you mount it? Obviously its going to be mounted to the bars or something but does it come with a mounting kit suitable for bikes? or does halfords sell one that is compatable with this model and fits on handlebars?

Are all bars a standard size?

I am going to measure mine tomorrow but would be nice to know.

Does anyone have this mount? How much does it protrude (i have an ideal place, between the bar risers (they are about 3 inch apart) so this would be a good place to put it but i don't know if it would fit right (anyone got the dimensions of the garmin i3, the width (as you looking at the screen) inparticular

My bars definat;ey don't have 1" bars so they will be 7/8"

I'm gonna go have a look at that garmin in halfords tomorrow i think.

It says the i3 has voice guidance and alerts. Is it possible to plug in headphones because you aint gona hear it when your on the bike!

I use a sandwich bag and an elastic band when it's raining to keep it dry.
