Hi all, I'm getting my bike back on the road after a year or so out from biking, and my 12yo girl wants to join me on rides out. Does anyone know of somewhere I can buy affordable protection for her round here? (between Liverpool and Warrington) It seems there is a big market for offroad kit for kids, but no serious road riding gear, that I can find anyway. I'm thinking of boots, jacket and fullface helmet minimum, armoured if possible. If those are cheap enough then I'll be able to get the trousers too. Thanks peeps

get round as many of the bike shows as you can. We got loads of good quality kit for my younger bro for next to nothing. KBC helmet £60, buffalo gloves and trousers £10 - £30, official triumph jacket £20 Prexsport boots £40 and he also has cheaper kit for his mini moto. The BMF is the best bet, i think theres the tail end later in the yr (though that doesnt help you now.)

Cheers for those, though I found when I went to the bike show at the Gmex that things were just as expensive if not dearer than normal, or was it just my gullible face making them up the prices? Laughing
I'll keep an eye out for events though, there's still a few weeks before she'll be able to come out with me anyway.

Aye, Widnes. Didn't fancy Millennium mate, I thought they were a bit expensive last time I went. Was going to try J&S in Northwich but looking at their website it doesn't look like they still do kit.

I have a CB500, but it's been on a SORN for 12-18 months since I changed jobs, no time to ride it. I'm leaving that job now so I have the bike booked in a local shop for a new chain, sprocket, MOT, full service etc at the end of the month. Can't wait Very Happy

I can recall seeing off road kit (and lots of it) at J&S. Give them a call and find out. They are still the best shop for bike gear in the northwest imo.

they have some stuff at J+S Northwich but its more expensive than the adult stuff, you might find that at 12 she will fit extra small adult gear, this was certainly the case for my Mrs' 12yr old son. Lots of xs helmets to fit as well.
