What if you dont have toe sliders?

Bid of an odd question, but I keep managing to get my toe sliders down during normal riding ie once a week and not trying to do so.

Now i've always had boots with toe sliders.

What happens if you just have normal boots ie no sliders. Just a thought.

Day to day I wear hitech magnums, I have occasionaly got a scuff on this from it going down along with it being a bit more grippy than a slider, but nothing more.

You'd have to be quite stupid to keep getting them down after the first few times - Learnt my lesson pretty quickly on my NSR!

Yeahh which makes me think why would anyone buy boots without sliders.

Perhaps its just my riding riding style, I don't know. I've seen people riding with trainers and shoes, they can hardly lean in them can they?

I make a concious effort to ride with my toes on the pegs and very rarely touch a toe slider down.

However, i did damage my anke in a drunken fall down some steps at my missus's xmas party (didn't spill my pint though Wink

) and my right foot has been a spacca ever since Rolling Eyes

and the toe slider was touching down quite a bit on the track.

I'm rambling.... maybe the people that buy boots with no toe sliders ever imagined they'd be scraping them on the floor. Once they start and wear through they'll regret it, only having half a little toe left after a ride has to sting a little Neutral

Riding like a duck is'nt my problem as the end of the peg has gone too, a shiny new set of rearsets should do the job. Thumbs Up

I seem to get the toes down before the pegs. But sometimes the pegs and not the toes????

Perhaps I have the wrong foot position, but it seems to be the same for either left or right foot.

I ride with my toes on the pegs, only way they're going to touch down is if I crash or I'm upchanging through a left hander at a fair angle of lean.

I don't have toe sliders on my current boots but it doesn't matter, I ride with my feet in my pockets, especially when it's cold. Brrrrrrr. Shocked

Sounds like afoot position issue mate, just try different places for your foot on the peg.

For those who havnt tried riding with balls of feet on pegs, feet paralell with the bike, you really should. Much better balance.

Its also good sometimes to stand on the pegs slightly over bumps so the suspension doesnt have to work so hard.

The balls of your feet should be on the pegs, with the inside foot straight along the line of the bike.

Like this, even with a cut away peg, the peg will usually go down before your foot does.

I'm a regular for scuffing my toes and i don't ride like duck Confused

I ALWAYS ride with the ball of my foot on the peg.
My pegs are quite narrow compared to my boots so on a hard charge on the twisties its not uncommon to hear and feel the slider touch down.
Its not a natural position for me to jam me feet in against the heel plates, i think its a combination of narrow pegs and wide frame along with size 10 Oxtars.
My boots are scuffed to hell but they look mean and used, they smell as they look too Mr. Green

Yeah, watch those bumpy b-roads. Wouldn't want to have a toe scraping at big lean when hitting a bump/pothole mid corner.

When I went minimoto racing with my mate I didn't have boots (looked like a dick in full leathers and trainers Laughing

and a gap between them!) but still got my knee (had knee sliders) and toe down and went straight thru my trainers and gave me nice rashes on my little toes!! Still kept doing it though because it was fun and I am stupid!

Made everyone feel sick with my bloody feet sticking out my shoes all day lmao! Laughing

its alright for my mate lol his dad bought him brand new sidi race rep boots just for mini moto!!
