when are you no longer judged as a child??

law states that your a child up until 18

bus' and theme parks usually go for 12

other places charge nothing for children and say under 8 is child!

so what would you consider the cut off for being a child.
this also opens up the whole 'depends on how childish you act' thing.

In 'work' terms a child is under 16, a "young person" is 16-18 and an adult is thereafter.


However, at 21b I am still enjoying the benefits of a child-like demeanor and appearance with all the benefits of an adult's wage/driving licence/ID

You can leave home at 16.
Many places will charge you adult prices if you are 12+
Leave compulsory education at 16.
Cant drink untill 18.
Can smoke at 16.
Can't drive until 17.

Looks like you can decide

Although if people class you as an adult at 18 and a child if you are under 18, that would mean you can legally have sex as a child .

Either 16, 17 or 18 you decide....

At 16 you have left school and any further education is your choice. You can get a full time job and you can legally have sex.

At 17 you have the same as 16, only you can drive a car aswell.

At 18 you have the same as 17, only you can legally buy alcohol and do other things such as get a credit card, mortgage?? Loans?? etc...

well anywhere a company can make money off you wil mean that you are seen as an adult at a younger age, anything government enforced like age limits for drink and sex will be higher

i personally think that childhood dosent have an age limit, you can get some pretty childish pricks who are 40 and get 17 year olds who are more mature than them

If you put an age on something, then people think it's a god given right to do whatever it is; e.g. voting at 18? How about an intelligence test first.

I agree with Hazza - I've seen some mature 14 year olds, and childish 50 year olds.

Teens should start about 9 or 10 nowadays.
But generally a young person constitutes of person btwn ages 13 - 21. That's the age group we target in youth work!

What pee's me right off is, OK some times I can look young and do get asked for ID but, a 40 year old women (with grey hair) got asked ID to get into a club. I mean sheeeesh!!
