If it's your first full licence you need 6 in total.

congratulations. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

i believe it is 3 further points and your back to square one. they carry over from the provisional. i think killa has some knowledge (and experience Rolling Eyes Laughing ) around this, so hopefully he will be along shortly.

or of course someone else who knows for certain!

Get a speed camera detector. Seriously I can't recommend them enough.

I've one that just detects fixed cameras, but even that's saved me on a new road at sunset.

I got this one for £100 , the only thing to say that this is just a fixed camera locator, it doesn't warn about police laser guns.

That said it has saved me and it also has a fantastic trip recording function where you can see where you've been how fast you were travelling. See my earlier post https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=81931&highlight=autoroute

It would be well cool if you can get a radar system thing to show where all police cars, radar guns, Police helicopters! are.

It would be "safer" to... as you will go slow when you normally dont, knowing theres police near by. But you also might crash due to your left eyeball fixed on the screen when your doing ridiculous speeds...

Speed detectors lull you into a false sense of security, you start going faster till they tell you to slow down, thats why I got rid of mine....Too many close calls.Plus you have to watch out for the hidden vans now too. Wink

have you passed your car test? if you have then the 2 years is from the day you passed the car test. Its not specifically the A2 licence, its the new drivers act. DAS would be the same if you hadnt passed another test before.

until those points are spent (i think its 3 years til they are spent and 4 til they can be removed) then they still count, and if you get another three points with the previous points still outstanding you will lose your licence.

The points carry from your provisional onto your full licence and the 2 years is from the date of your first 'full' licence, be it car or bike. So as I passed my car test first, its from that date and not the date of me passing my bike test. (roll on december!)

Otherwise I'd still have a whole year to wait Shocked

Fortunately, my time is nearly up!

But after 2 years your limit will be 12 points. I suggest in the meantime you move to County Durham, our lack of speed cameras, and traffic police is fabulous.

lol its not that. i dont go out much on my bike now anyway but i might start going college again so i would need 2 go onto the mororway then north circ because its quicker 2 go onto the north circ from the motorway than the a12 Laughing so i dont whant 2 loose my licence.
looks like i will have 2 cut my speed down now Evil or Very Mad
