Searching for RC Control Unit

i am looking for an RC control unit for my NSR FOXEYE 2001 model,

i am led to believe that the control unit is marked TV-78 if you have one spare and would like to sell it please contact me, or if you know where i could purchase one. Again please contact me

About £100 new from david silver spares. I /think/ have a TV-78 up the shed however the wires are corroded and rather short (they broke off) so it would require a bit of work. If you pay for the postage you can have it.

There are usualy a fair few on ebay.

tv-78 from a nsr125 89-93 model how much work alan to make it fit a french imported foxeye 2001 model?

any or not including the powervalve servo? would it be suitable or any good.

I have servos from UK and import bikes, the wiring is all the same across all NSR's (powervalve wiring anyway) as far as I can see.

is that including 89-93 models before abcast, but you say you have servo's and tv-78 maybe, if so you want to sell one and at what price.

be carefull you all TV-78 from 1989-1992 are different from later models . 1989-1992 ref is 31810 KY4 900 , 1993 & later is 31810 KBS 900 . wiring is different but can work if you know that wiring by exchanging wires positions

the cdi i had to swop over 2 wires, is it any more difficult, if not do you know which of the wires need to be swopped over, no doubt you do

dont be confused you have 2 electronic units :
- the CDI sited under your seat near the lock which make the ignition spark . changing the CI639 by a CI626 needs to exchange the black/yellow and the green on the 4 wires connector
- the RC valves control unit sited under the air box . the model marked TV-124 can be exchange by the TV-78 providing they are both referenced as KBS (1993 & later) . it's possible to fit a TV-78 marked KY4 but you must know where which wire goes to re-establish the correct wiring

thankfully i have sourced an italian full power (KBS) TV-78 so hopefully this will sit straight in pick up and collect on tuesday.

when i have swopped this over, do i then have to swop the cables over on the servo.

so far

1) CDI from an Italian full power revs kick in at around 6 - 6.500 - 12:500 instead of 9.000

2) Up jetted

3) ( RC Control Unit TV-78) also from an italian import > complete tuesday.

thanks for the advice so far alains, from a spluttering bucket struggling to hold 60 now my rpms are up the bike holds 80 at 10.000rpm runs sweet as a nut, sounds like it has power and you can feel the torque.

the french import alains do i still have to swop the cables over on the servo? or is it the same on all models.

i was going to add the variable resister but will i not need it now i have sourced an rc control unit or would it still benefit my search for 100mph

hopefully i can have all the other jobs completed before i get my UNI grant then i can add a nice carbon can to the back of it

so i take it those 2 cables on the servo as in the picture is not the cables i am supposed to be swapping over. i had the side fairing off earlier and i think i see where the freedo plate is hiding.

the powervalve is the exhaust gas outlet valve isn't it, attached to the side of the engine. but how am i supposed to get to it since it hides begind the radiator and a large section of the alcast frame.

is this where the cables are that i am supposed to be adjusting or am i ok to be doing them at the servo as i showed in the picture.

i am a little confused with this now

the box attached on the right side of the barrel is called base cable guide , the wheel inside where the cables are clipped is called cable guide . one of this cable has a spring to take the cable guide back when the other is released . to see which cable you must pull (from the pulley) to open the valves without dismantling too many pieces is to have the exhaust off , then by the exhaust port you will see or feel (with your fingers) when your valves are closed or open . afterwards it's pretty easy to fit the cables on the pulley if you know : when you put key on , pulley goes to HI

The Rc Control Unit (Tv - 78) opens the valve to 95% is that correct
The Jets (138,42,65)
The Fuel intake restriction is non exhistant


Next: is the carbon reeds (what difference will they make?)
and a new exhaust something without a restriction, ohh and the powervalve cables when i take the exhaust off and change the exhaust gasket.

10,000 miles probably a new piston rings small end bearing and the other stuff that need changing.

At 20,000 miles what consists of a total engine rebuild?

is that all i need to do to make it run fast and smooth to take care of it besides regularly cleaning the air filter checking water oil and stuff.

to be precise about engine maintenance , every 7500 miles de-carbonizing top-end with :
- first 7500 , rings change with stuff (do not forget to note the barrel letter)
- 15000 piston+rings change with stuff (piston must have the same letter as the barrel)
- 22500 top-end rebuild
note : stuff means seals , small end bearing ,piston pin , clips
if you do not observe this schedule , you will possibly save money (as you are thinking) but in fact if a break down appears you will spend a lot more . in the UK all spares are much cheaper than on the continent , so take your chance to avoid very ennoying bugs

i now have the rc valve control and now have one for sale depending on weather the bike runs better or worse with the replacement CDI and RC Control unit. tv-124 and cdi imported bike from france going on sale on ebay sometime during the week

you will be surprised about the difference , but think about de-carbonizing and rings change !

Took spark plug out, put 50mil of redex in left it for an hour, turned it over with a cloth over the hole, a few times left it a further half hour then fired it up with a br9 plug swopped it back for my br8 and it seems to be running better, i even had to adjust the air screw because it was getting to much air after cleaning.

my partner seems to think because its a french import and the speedo is in kilometers, then the counter will also be countin kilometres also 'is this correct ?' so 9026 kilometers is 50.?? miles but seems to be running better, and i may get a few more rides until i have to learn any major repairs.

not cutting out at traffic lights, wants to accelerate seems to be running a damn site smoother not half as choppy as it was.

since the alterations the bikes vibrations seems to have smoothed out loads, stroll on september

you have the conversion Kms to miles as Kms/1.6 so 9026 kms=5610 miles . i suggest to use BR10EIX in hot weather or for intense use otherwise use a BR9EIX
