When learning, I prefered the CG to the Yamaha SR in looks (the SR looks old ) and riding position, comfortability and general handling.
There are plenty of second hand CGs for sale as once the test is passed most bikers get a bigger bike. They are built strong and last forever (so people say) amd you can guarantee that they have not been thrashed like a Aprilia RS by some batty boy.
It should do for you everything that is needed by a learner and may actually hold its money and not loose out too much on the resale ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

The latest CG125 ?
I absolutely love it.
I hired one last year and, I liked it so much, I took my test on it - and passed.
If I had the spare cash I'd buy a new one anytime for a plaything.
I think it's a wonderful little bike. Reasonably priced, virtually bombproof and you can flip it round corners like billy'o
Just ignore all the others who bang on about their RS125's
Just my opinion though ____________________ Horse Power was safer when the Horses had it! |

I had a Honda CLR125 which is basically a CG and I loved it. It was so reliable, I had it a year and sold it for the price I paid
As The Old Geeza said just ignore the rs125 people as there's maybe quicker but at least your will last longer ____________________ [Rides: Suzuki GSF600sx]

I have a CG.
Couple of niggles with it mainly due to me being a perfectionist and paranoid but it's never ever been off the road unridable apart from when I had the chain and sprockets replaced on it.
The tyres are the OEM fitted ones and are made by a company called "IRC" (WTF?)
They've lasted 5 years and 12,000 miles, and still look like new :S Had the pegs down on them as well.
I get about 200 miles to 9 quids worth of fuel.
I change the oil every 1/2000 miles with Castrol GPS (about a tenner a bottle, not much to pay per month or 2)
That's about all I do, give it a good wash every so often and remove the chain guard when you feel like it and give it a good clean out, if you get a new one you won't have this problem as it's not a full enclosure.
It's not fast at all, but will put you in front of most cars at the lights on the morning commute up to about 30.
Great fun round the corners, once you get used you to you won't be scared of going about 50 on it, but feels a bit odd when you do it the first few times.
You should buy one, I've just about got bored of mine and that's after a year and 9,000 milesl. |

just to reiterate what everyone has said before me, its very reliable and efficient to run.
mine was completly faultless, apart from the speed and looks.
