No big deal, just my '98 GS500. Standard and in decent condition. Oh, it has an aftermarket nose fairing, cheap German thing apparently. Hope it helps with the wind.

Squareyness? Probably. Laughing I haven't rode it yet apart from a test ride on the womans driveway. (SORN and no license yet). Her hubby took it to work a few times last year and thats the only action it has seen in the last two years. He seemed like a sensible type of guy, just the type you wanna buy a bike off I guess.

Crossply BT45 tyre, is meant to look like that you are thinking of radial tyres like the bt014 found on modern sports bikes.

Nah I got a GS500 and Bt45's that rear does look a little squared off to me, not quite on its last legs but your handling will suffer...

But nice clean GS, i like the colour... mcuh better than my aquamarine/turqoise 94'gs with white wheels which are now black from road cack.

Following the earlier "squared off" comment I went out, checked the treads and found them to be evenly worn across the tyre. Still very legal. The bike has had two lady owners, the last one had new tyres put on it but never rode it. Her hubby rode it to work a few times apparently.
Anyway, thanks for your comments.

Looks nice, I just passed my test on one of those and yours looks in a lot better nick than the one I used. The first gear had to be really smashed in. Just what I needed whilst trying to impress the examiner. Shocked

Thanks again for your nice comments folks.

RGV Hugger. Now I understand. The stubby mudguard that sits very close to the tyre. Yes that would look quite sporty. I'll keep an eye open for one of those. Does it fit quite easily?

Gordon

ETA. Actually that may help with a small problem I found. Just where the swinging arm pivots, there is an area which collects grit and other road dirt. It gets wet, stays wet and help Mr Rust get to work. I've cleaned it out now and treated it with spray grease to prevent further rust, but the hugger will help keep the dirt away from that area. Cheers!

RGV Hugger... Very easy to fit mate. its basically getting an rGV250 hugger from ebay, getting out a stanley knife, and getting it to work!

Easiest mod there is

Head over to www.gs500e.co.uk/forums and have a look in the how-to's, theres soooo many guides for different things on there mate!

Anders, I'm not too sure about the nose fairing either. I'm leaving it there for now just in case it helps keep the wind of my chest. If it causes wind/helmet problems, I'll probably remove it.

Method, thanks for the tip Smile

Cheers

Gordon
