I know they've already been mentioned in a few threads here, but if you're looking for bike insurance you really should try ebikeinsurance

My stats:

26yo
3 years licence, 4 years riding
4 years NCB
1995 CB500
Social Domestic inc Commuting
inc pillions (I think - hmmm need to check that!)
occupation - ninja
industry - piracy (confusing I know!)
no licence endorsements
<3000 miles ahem!
North Oxford postcode (2nd lowest risk rating)

My renewal quote was £145, but ebike quoted me £78! Nobody else could get close! Includes 365 days EU cover, UK breakdown and legal. Only problem is it doesn't include 3rd party all other bikes, but they say they do an easy 'ride yer mates bike' extension if you need it (Rob!).

They also have some other nice extras like free legal cover even if you don't take the policy, decent monthly payment options and possible NCB after 8 months on monthly payment.

Just out of interest did you try TPFT? I've often found it to be a bit cheaper than TPO (for some strange reason).

CIA were good for me, CB-1 was insured for £100 TPFT.

They were good on price for me, about £20 cheaper than Carole Nash, but I went with Carole Nash because of the 3rd party to ride other bikes thing.

It's worth £20 a year for me to have that. Gives me instant access to all Himself's bikes (all MOT'd and insured on his multi-bike policy), and when any of my mates say "bet you CAN reach the floor on mine, have a go" I can get straight on if I can! Thumbs Up

This mates bike thing is all very well but they don't actually tell you at the quote stage how much it will cost, how easy it is to implement, or even (if you read it carefully) if the scheme has actually been started yet! When I got my quote mid-June it was "we are looking to introduce......"

Legal cover isn't worth the paper it's written on unfortunately. Much better going thru someone like Rider Support or just going straight to a specialist bike solicitor if you come off.

You are the first person i have heard say that.
There have been a few threads on here asking if its worth it and every always says 'YOU MUST GET LEGAL COVER IT IS SOOO IMPORTANT'.

I used the legal cover that came with my insurance from H&R and they were excellent. Sorted out a potentially very difficult case and got me a 100% win, they also saved me loads of hassle and head banging. Thumbs Up

I've used Wicked Quotes in the past too, and I remember that they were very helpful and were able to give me the best price at that time.

For a Honda CG-125 @ 17

E-Bike £350-£520
churchill (NIG) £375
motorcycle Direct £282 TPTF (The National Insurance and Guarantee Corporation Limited)
Bennetts (AXA) £ 418.33 *per yeaR
Express insurance £435.66

My own Insurance on my moped said £1000, so when I get the CG i will have to can'x my current policy which means I will not get a extra year NCB, but for £1000 they can run. oh and e-bike offered that free leagle protection even if I did't go with them.

My wallet is still feeling ill though!
