The Conservatives were promising to widen every road in the country if they got into power!
They're probably just testing the waters, all these sensationalist 'they're forcing through a dodgy bill' stories never amount to anything. |

6 inches off three lanes, 4 if you include the hard shoulder, only gives you 2 feet. Not enough room for a cycle lane. There must be more to it than that. ____________________ Current bike: Kawasaki Z750S |

On the plus side, no-one will be able to take trucks or caravans on the motorways any more...

I refer the honourable gentlemen to:
https://www.highways.gov.uk/knowledge/11689.aspx
It's most definitely true. Note that a lot of the extra room is going to be found by making the central reserve a hell of a lot narrower - I hope their new "restraint system" is up to the job... ____________________ Monster m600

Wonder what the "slow lane" that they refer to is? They've spent long enough in the past saying that there is no such thing as a "fast lane", just "overtaking lanes". ____________________ Current bike: Kawasaki Z750S |

Erm, 6 inches off a lane I doubt is going to make it /massively/ more difficult to filter.
I'm guessing you don't live near London . |
