Hi,
I park my bike near Moorgate station. I only use the steering lock and a disc lock on the front to secure it.
Just thinking if it i safe to leave it there over night if I want to go for a drink. I left the ER-5 on Old St before. It's quite a quiet area once all the office workers have gone home.
Can anyone suggest how I can make it less attractive to nick? ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

Buy a chain and lock so you can chain it to some thing. Probably cost around £30 and will help put thieves off nicking it ____________________ Rieju MRX 50 Castrol Edition |

The NCP car parks only charge £3 for 24 hours for a bike. Don't know if there are many over by you in the city but I'm sure there must be some? £3, or even £6 isn't bad for peace of mind! ____________________ Love is 1050cc |

I wouldn't leave it any where near old street...
I used to work in Hoxton Square and have seen little scum bags trying to smash the disc lock of some FZ-6 with a mallet/hammer.
Plus there's not alot stopping a van rocking up and hoiking your bike into it at night, it's quite dodgy round there.
NCP is a good one if you're not a gyppo like me...
But my tip is go a tiny bit further down from Moorgate towards Cannon street. There's a place called cousins lane, must be about 5 mins from moorgate I reckon. Anyway down cousins lane past the massive Cannons gym there's an alley way with free parking 24/7. Loads of space, its an alleyway with bollards so vans can't pick your bike up, best bit of all its monitored by security guards every hour or so and they go round writing down the in's and out's of bikes, recording numbers and stuff so it should be totally safe. Think there may even be cctv there.
HTH and hope I don't lose my parking spot if there's a influx of bikes due to this post...... |
