When i woke up this moring my bike had a back L plate. Once i had rode to work i no longer had a back L plate Laughing

It must have broken off or something because there's a thin strip of it left just below my license plate, and there's no bolts missing that hold it on.

What can happen if i get stopped on the way home tonight with no back plate? I Still have my sticky front one on.

Potentially up to 3 points & a £60 fine.

Although you'd have to get a copper on a bad day. Best to get it replaced ASAP

i find they always break off. Best bet, if you can't replace it immediatly, draw a big L on a bit of paper with red board marker and sellotape it to the back of your lid. i got an LC10 and £60 fine and now i have front and back L plates and this helmet one, if one breaks off, they can't say i havn't made an effort!

Not sure what an LC10 is,I got caught with a cut down rear L-plate and got a LC20(sounds worse then a 10)

Which sounds really harsh as it was only cut down by about an inch so it would fit on my bike a little better.

But looking back I think he only gave it to me as he caught me 9 years ago when I was 17, riding a battered old CB125 superdream, flying round a bend towards him way over the speed limit hanging off the seat with the center stand grinding on the road Smile
I think it was about the only thing he could make stick and he sure as hell didn't want me to get off with nothing. So made a big deal about the L-plate when really he was just angry about my riding.

I'll do that tomorrow. I can't do it on the way home from work because it's 20 minutes out of my way Laughing
