Well, pretty much.
As you know the Ebay listing ended yesterday.
I got a phone call last night, the guy was amazed that it hadn't gone, i explained i did put a rediculous price on for it so i was going to re-list it with something more resonable.
We came to an on the phone agreement of £1750, which i am very happy with, i am being very stubborn about that to.
I rode her to work today, seriously, if you were interested in a 400, you missed out. Such a stunning bike, to look at and to ride.
It's a fantastic bike, she was the first bike i owned so this is going to be hard for me to see her go.

Nothing to do with the thread really, but you weren't riding around south Essex the other day were you? I saw a little VFR that looked pretty much exactly the same and thought it was you.
Nice one for the sale though mate, £1750 is a good price, . ____________________ TS50 > Senda 125 > ZXR400 > CB-1 > GSX-R1000 > Bandit 600 > ZXR750 H1 > GSX-R750 SRAD > '98 RR-W Fireblade > T595 Daytona > Hornet 900 > '04 Fireblade > GSX-S1000F (x2) > '23 XSR900 |

Ok, just spoke to the guy again, he says he's bringing a mate he calls the 'guru', obviously with the bikes then.
I hope i dont end up in a stand off, whats the best way to avoid this bloke trying to hack my price down when i really need it to go for that.
I say this because i've calculated some fo the costs for the work, although that extra bit doesnt amount to what i've spent i do think the bike is worth it.

So let’s say they see the bike and he comes out with £1550 do I only drop £50 a time from mine or do I just say, pay my price or walk now?
As my intention is £1750 because it has the TAX for 12 months and MOT for 12 months, new tyres and servicing, should I have a lower price in my head that I shouldn’t go below so I don’t get caught out?
Sorry for the questions but a slip up could cost me £200+
Thanks for the advice Craig. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

depends tbh, look at it from his mind. you wanna sell it, he knows there are others he could go look at. he'll probably try to take off some, just to see if he can. if you're fine with it then only take off £100 and go no more than that.
you say, i am not haggling this is what i want. he's likely to be in two minds about it
tax is good, so is MOT. but remember, the MOT doesn't mean the bike is mechanicaly sound, just means it was good enough to get through the test. although with more months, it is a really good selling point.
same kinda thing goes for servicing, it's a selling point, but at the end of the day, it's something the bike needs to have done to keep it in order. so you shouldn't really throw that in as if it's some sort of expensive luxury a potential buyer shouldn't expect.
if he's bringing someone with him that isn't blinded by how beautifal the bike is and how nice it sounds, he'll be able to go over the info impartially.
explain to impartial guru about what its had done to it.
point out any small amounts of damage he's likely to come across, that way he won't be like, well if he didn't tell us about that, what else is he hiding
he'll be focusing on trying to find bad points about the bike, to use as leverage when haggling. keep explaining the good. like the new tyres, show the service history, prattle on about everything as much as possible ____________________ Sahf East Winnah 4LYF

The easy way is to say you have someone waiting on the result of what happens between you and this other guy.
Tell him the other guy is waiting with an offer of 1700 and you will take him up if "the guru" does not match / beat £1700.
Thats what i would do
You dont want to back down any more than £50 because that will make the guy think he can get more off you. Inform him that 1750 is allready below what you originaly had the bike valued at, and that 1750 is a perfectly reasonable price for a bike of your quality and condition
If he says he can find one cheaper, just remind him that yours is infact a lot different to the one that he can find for 1400 etc... Yours is trustworthy and reliable etc...

How far away is he coming from, If its a good distance chances are he wont walk away for the sake of a few quid if the bike is the right one for him and he knows it.
In the passed I have agree'd a price with people on the phone and gone to kent/reading/liverpool/sheffield for my bikes.
