some of you may know ive just got back into biking after a few yrs, and ive slowly been building up my confidence, and getting safer/faster/smoother as the weeks go by.
so today i went out for a ride, it was all going so well, i felt really at one with the bike, until i come round a bend and the road straightens up for a bit with a junction on the right.
ok i think, ive seen the huge tractor and even bigger trailer waiting to pull out, and he's seen me (well, his head turned in my direction..) just in case i slow down a bit, and just as i reach the junction he pulls out much quicker than i thought possible for a tractor Shocked
que the heart missing a beat, starfish does a little flinch or two and on go the brakes...
anyway, i managed to brake in time, im just glad i decided to slow down 'just in case', otherwise it couldve been nasty.
and yes, i did give farmer giles a load of verbal Evil or Very Mad

Good on ya at least you are ok and you know you still have the reaction to stop in time, worst thing is it probably wont be the last time, think they own the road and cause nothing but havoc.

Mmm, what a lovely image you've left us with...!

Glad you're ok, but you'll come to realise that if another road user could do something dangerous, annoying or stupid then they probably will. Slowing down "just in case" is a good strategy.

And keeping a starfish in your pants is just plain cruel...

yeah tractors can accelerate bloody fast, they got very very low gearing and very big engines so they go from standstill to flat out pretty quick for something that can weight about 7 ton + trailer 10 ton easy for that.
