Quoted £138.00 from Yamaha main dealers.

obviously i can get it cheaper elsewhere....

....cheapest is about £95.00 delivered DID X RING.

Does anybody know what a 530 conversion is??

The following kit on ebay is a 530 kit...

530 Lighter, Stronger and Cheaper.

Thunderaces are 532 standard, but R1's use 530.

The kit makes the thunderace from the 532 - 530.

Correct??

there's more options available if you convert thet sprockets to 530, from 532, and since there are more 530 chains avalable, they tend to be a bit cheaper, not to mention stronger too.

I've just fitted a Stealth Tri-Metal sprocket and new chain to my 'ace. it's an Alloy carrier with a steel ring for the teeth, almost as light as an alloy sprocket, lifetime of a steel one.

£105 fitted or £125 for heavy duty chain/sprockets from https://www.bfmmotorcycles.co.uk/ in Bradford.

Best off just ringing round local independents like them, or looking in back of bike mags. They also do mail order if you want to put chain/sprockets on yourself.

(Prices for a Thunderace 530 chain conversion)

Also check out https://www.exup1000.co.uk/ and https://www.bikersoracle.com/thunder/forum/ maybe more suggestions specific to bike on there.

Good luck!

Cheers

Paul

I've had stuff from https://www.bfmmotorcycles.co.uk/ on a couple of occasions, They're a great bunch. They're very friendly, helpful, competitively priced and very quick with their deliveries.
Their showroom is pretty good too, Bikes and clothing downstairs, then a room packed with goodies upstairs. I could spend a fortune in their if I had any money!!!!! I met Dave Jeffries (rip) in there when his family owned the place. He was a top chap, he would happily stand there and chat to you all day.

£111 for steel sprockets and Tsubaki O-ring chain, or £119 with Tsubaki X-ring gold chain. Tsubaki are the best chain I know of. I tend to see buying cheap chains as false economy.
