Tank Trouble

Hi,

I am looking for a Tank Pad for my Black Bandit, does anyone know of any decent ones that look smart aswell, the oxford one I have keeps pealing off, the shop have said when I take it back they will give me a full refund.

Also I am looking for a tank bag, which will need to be waterproof as we do live in England, is there any good sized ones on the market, maybe one that can double up as a rucksack?

not thread hijacking but I'm having difficulty with Motrax tank pads. I've lost two now, and they just don't stick??

In regards to the tankbag, I think Hein Gericke may still be doing the Oxford ones for £15, the Oxford one I used had a zip that ran along the bottom which detached from the magnetic base and underneath there were arm straps, so it was a real rucksack.

Get a Bagster tank cover and tank bag - kill 2 birds with one stone. Not cheap - but bloody good. Especially if you are going to be using the tank bag a lot.

I bought a clear Pro Grip pad for mine. Not the tinest bit of trouble with adhesion, despite 0* winters and 35* summers. Give 'em a shot. Plenty to be found online and on Ebay. And the styles are tops. Oh, and it's lasted nearly two years without a bit of fade, bubbling or peeling.

Thanks for the advice, I have found plenty on the pro grip ones, think I might try and get the chrome effect one, I think this should look good on the black bike?

Anyone have any opinions on this?

the oxford tank pads are crap, thought the motrax ones wernt to bad tho and they do good designs.
for an oxford tank bag like that your looking at about £50 hein gericke to a cheap oxford tank bag for £20 but its doesnt turn into a ruck sack.

Ive fitted a carbon look tank shield to my bike. Its molded to the right shape for the tank and looks good. I recommend extra sticky though, use the outdorr double sided sticky pads or strip, they are available from halfords and they are usually used for sticking car badges and trim on and work well for this.

For a good tankbag that converts into a rucksack i'd rtecommend an oxford humpback or sports one such as:

You just unzip the bag from the bottom part that affixes to the bike and it becomes a rucksack.
