Hi all!

I've got my CBT booked for next weekend and a 1992 Honda NSR 125 sat in my yard in need of some work (but thats a story for another section!), also got a 1982 Honda Melody to get me about until the NSR is done, could do with a break from cars!

Been reading through the forum for the past few days, you all seem like a helpful bunch Wink

I look forward to all your help in the future!

Thanks
Rob

Cant wait to get on the road on a bike! I've had a few crossers and been on my mates' crossers and trials bikes and I've got a mini moto (but I'm thinking about getting rid of that, nowhere to go on it!)

Thanks
Rob

That's a nice allcast NSR mate. What work does it need to get it ready for the road? Good luck with your CBT etc!

Is the MGBGT your's? Sounds like you have had enough of four wheels then for a while?

Apart from the engine needs putting back together, it needs indicators on the front (gonna use honda melody ones for now), might need tyres, not really sure, havent had a good look, and a headlight bulb

Do you need mirrors for an mot? I know it would be a good idea to have them but I've been told you dont need them

The MGBGT is my dads project, he also has a Triumph Herald which is on the road, I have an '87 Merc 190 and a Pug 205 gti turbo project that I'm close to giving up on!

I hope you have an easier time of it with your bike anyway mate. Car's can be right pain, but your 205gti turbo project sounds interesting to say the least! I hope you get it running as i imagine it would be pretty rapid, i know a std 1.9gti was, or it feels like it anyway!

Im selling my main bike this year, and my car, as ive really got interested in the retro car/old skool scene now. Im looking for a notorious 80's turbocharged hot hatch or coupe as a project next, and top of my list if i can ever find one is an MG Maestro turbo!

Is your Pug project a self build, or a kit installation? My mate got a turbo kit fitted to his 2000 Nissan Almera sport, 2years ago, and for what sounded like a simple bolt on installation, it took him nearly 12months to actually get it running anything like well! It during this time burnt out a coil, melted a bit of the engine loom, and killed the clutch! All that convinced me that if ever i wanted a turbocharged car, id start out with one, and never add a blower to a nasp car, as ive seen my mate waste £4000, and learnt from it!

The turbo project was an engine out of a citroen xm 2.0 8v turbo, that lasted a few months before the turbo sized (only took 2 weeks to get the engine in and running!) Then after that I took it off the road to start a 16v conversion, using the 8v turbo bottom end with a 306 s16 head, custom everything, trying to make it all myself to keep costs down but its been off the road for around 2 years now due to things not going how I planned!
