Hey well i want to get my bike through the MOT a bit early so if it fails i can still ride it and get it sorted, but im not sure on the limits of the pads on the front its a 50cc scooter so any help would be great guys.

Not sure of the exact limit. Probably just an advisory providing there is SOME pad material but don't quote me on that.

In any case, most (but not all) pads have a wear marker on them in the form of a groove down the middle of the pad material. If they're worn past the groove, they need replacing.

Yer cheers stinkwheel, but mine dont have the line down the centre, it can do stoppies and skid ect with no problem so i think its got good enough braking power but if the pads are low then id fail Crying or Very sad

Ah, found it.

Standard pads 1.5mm minimum.

Sintered pads 1.0mm minimum.

PAds are only like £10 and take about 5 mins to fit em Rolling Eyes

not on scooters you got to remove the back wheel and exhaust Rolling Eyes


and there £15 actually Thumbs Up and atm i dont have £30 quid just had to replace my head,piston, barrel

Well on most peds that ive worked on you dont need to! Just shop around then to find the pads cheaper, OR get aset of cheaper pads such as Armstrongs!
