okay we got some bad news the other day about me grandad he has been told he has prostate Cancer, and the good news is that it is treatable. But i want to do something to raise awarness about the diesease.

i have been thinking about doing a big sponsored cycle ride, say( and yes i am a bit mad!!) john O groats to Lands End or something simlier.

if i do get enough interest or feed back i will approuch Cancer Uk and see if they can help me sort out the sponsership or something like that,

so yeah anybody got any ideas on what i can do??

many thanks for your time

Hi Fatmatt....
Sorry to hear about your families really sh1t news mate!

If it's any consolation (which I know it's not going to be) My father was diagnosed as having Prostrate cancer back about 11 years ago.... He had an op and was given the all clear.

whilst my dad was in hospital the specialist told him that nearly (if I remember correctly) 85% of ALL men end up with cancer of the prostrate gland by the age of seventy. Most of the time they die through old age, not the cancer!

Dad's now just turned 67 and He's starting to get the same sort of symptoms again! (waiting on camera and all things test related)

Like I said, I know this isn't a lot of help to you right now, But there are people out there that know how you are feeling! Wink
