Tin,
Well worth a bid if U want a second bike for track day's and have the time to give it TLC.

Looks good. I suspect that by TLC they mean the carbs need cleaning out and the like. Would be worth buying if you can budget on spending some money to sort out the kind of things that go wrong with a parked bike

As to whether to go for a CBR or the VFR, that would depend on what you want to do with it. If you fancy going touring, or carrying a pillion vary often then go for the CBR. Biggest challange will be getting used to the weight difference after a 125

All the best

I've never found the weight difference to be much of a problem, though I am fairly heavy myself... I went from riding a NS125 to a KLR650 and had got used to it by the time I got home. A while later a mate let me have a go on his 1200 Bandit, I sat on it and it felt really like light... almost like a 125 in comparison to the top-heavy KLR.

Hi

I am fairly light (about 10 stone) and short (5'8"), and I certainly do notice the weight difference. To be honest I would be tempted to say to anyone who has just passed there test that they think about running a cheaper heavy bike for a few months. That way if the weight does catch them out (pushing the bike into a parking spot) then the damage is not as worrying.

I leant my old FZ750 to a friend who had passed his bike test. He liked that, and even if he had dropped it in a car park it was not the end of the world

All the best

I'm just under 6ft and around 15st so it's not as bad for me..
I'd still agree with getting cheaper bikes when you're still fairly new to riding... it's far to easy to destroy £500+ worth of plstics with a slight misjudgement.

To be fair I *very nearly* dropped my zx6r in a supermarket car park. I had some quite full panniers which I handn't used before and was trying to get past some trollys. As I moved my legs out of the way of the trollys the bike fell towards them and I only *just* managed to save it: the mirror touched down and bent back, but nothing else did .. phew Smile

Hi Guys Again,

Today Wednesday, had a call from a customer to go to Eastbourne, looked at the sky and thought sod it take the NSR!

Started OK, lots of twisty bits on the A22 by the time I cleared East Grinstead started to feel like Rossi, power band gear changing and all that, till I got to the bit over the Ashdown forest and the wind hit me. Sh................t what a roller coaster white nuckle ride!!!!!!!! Thought I wus doing OK until some guy on a Gixer came stomping by, perfectly upright and dead stable!!!!!!!

The rest of the journey OK apart from the fatgue of frenetic gear changing to blast past the Sunday drivers (or should that be Wednesday drivers ?) lol:

Journey home OK but for the first 15mins after dismounting, my arse wus killing me!

Good fun day BUT I WANA BIGGER BIKE MUMMMY PLEASE! PLEASE!

Mole (slightly knackered)

Stew ur bike looks sweet, mole if u wanna go touring use a cbr6, but for a mess around and weekender get the vfr instead, as u said u got a car, so the VFR400 would be the best option.

good luck anyway mate, may c u at box hill sunday.

NICE ONE MOLE!
New you would listen to me in the end. I take it the bike is a RVF400 NC35 though. Otherwise you will have to change the avatar coz the NC30 has round lights, not foxeye style. Razz

LOL does that mean that my bike looks shite with red wheels?
I was gonna change em bake to their original white, but decided to keep em red coz
a) at least it makes the bike look slightly different to the others
b) need to save some money!!

One day maybe I will have a custom paint job on the whole bike, but thats gonna be after some other bits are sorted!

Hello mate! haven't been on the net for a while, and this topic's gone far! in a bit of a ruch, gotta pick up my 'toy with tits' from college in reigate.
looking practically i'd go for the CBR6, thers's many optional extras and loads of parts if things go wrong. on the other hand it's far too common and i'd never get one!
The NC30 is rarer, so better for getting looks. it''l probably corner better but it won't have the parts and acc. lists if the more widespread CBR6. I'd prefer the NC30, but the CBR'd give me more peace of mind. I'm looking at getting a suzuki SV650S next, they had one down there last time i looked. near where highway used to be.

Hi Adam,

Yea saw that SV650s down there myself I think is wus in metalic powder Blue! Not sure about it I'm told they are very good and don't have to many probs, just not sure about the image, I'm a very style led poser me!

Still the next few day's will tell, the only trouble with CB600Rf is that Dobles don't have an afordable one in a decent colour. The tasty sporty ones all seem to be in the 4K plus range. I don't wana spent much more than 3.5K, still, lets see what kinda job they make of the NC30's paint job

More news Tomorow

Funny U should say that Rob! Cos, me and ere indoors ave just met up with some old friends we lost touch wiv 20 years ago, seems that the Guy's (Holligans in their younger day's) are now mad about bikes, and are into track day's.

When my wife Val met them last week, the first question was what bike has Mole got? I thought Sh...t I ope you never told them! She said, (Not being bike literate) I fink it's yellow one, nasuri or somfink! I thought thank god for that, knowing these two, when we meet up in 2 weeks time they are bound to take the piss!

It will be nice to say, well my other Bikes an NC30, if I avent got by then I'l just ave 2 LIE!
