Im looking at getting a A2 License, the one that would restrict me to 33bhp for 2 years when i am 17, i was wondering is this hard to obtain or is it easy-ish.

I currently have experience on a 50cc twist and go, but have ridden my mates rs125 and i have coped with the gears fine.

Would you say its hard to do? Is it worth doing?

Thanks, Perry.

its worth doing but its not easy and its not hard
i failed the 1st time because i put my foot down on the u-turn because i was useing my nsr and its hard 2 do a u-turn on a narrow road.
down side is the max amount off point u can have is 6 points and your points from your prov licence carry over 2 your full licence so if u got 3 points like me u will only need another 3 to loose your licence.

good points u can get a bigger bike
no more stupid l plates
carry someone
and go on motorways

Its definitely worth doing, if only to get some better training than the CBT offers.

Like most tests, its not that hard if you practise and put the work in. The unknown quantity that can screw it up is how you handle the nerves.

I've got 6 points on my car licence, what does this mean as far as a bike licence is concerned?

i dont know realy but all i know is that your full car licence is your prov bile licence so when u do your bike test and u get your full bike licence the 6 points will curry over
now i know the max amount off points u can get on an a2 licence is 6 with in the 1st 2 years but i dont know about the over 21 licence

Afaik the 6 points rule counts for two years after your first full licence, be it car or bike.

i dont know who 2 call but i would like 2 know as i had 3 points on my prov licence and on my new licence it says i still got 3 points Laughing

Pretty sure prov/licence points carry over which means you only need 3 in the next 2 years to have to take tests again.

AFAIK
for the first 2 years after your FIRST full licence is aqquired if you get 6 or more points you loose your licence and go back to provisional.

THis is after your first FULL licence be that car or bike so if you pass the car test on 1st Jan 2006 and this is your first full licence you will loose your licence and all entitlements if you get 6 or more points before 1st Jan 2008.

If in the above scenario you passed the A,A1 or A2 on the 1st Jan 2007 you would still only loose your licenc if you aqquired 6 or more points before the 1st Jan 2008. It is not extended to 2009. However should you get 6 or more points before 2008 you will loose BOTH car AND bike entitlement

I had never ridden anything before & passed my A2 1st time. The riding isn't hard but remembering all the stuff you have to do can be.

further to the above if you have 6 or more points on provisional when you aqquire your first licence for the 2 years if you get 1 more point you will loose your licence in the same was as above unless ofcourse the points on your provisional expire before the end of the 2 years at which point it will be 6 points as normal.
