Hi,
I've noticed recently that when I seem to brake cars dont notice and end up having to stop pretty sharpish or hit my rear end.
When I pull my front brake lever the brake lights come on fine, however, the rear I literally have to stamp on to get to light up.
In the SV, is the sensor a switch, or a pressure sensor within the system itself?
I'm pretty much guessing a drain of fluid and good clean will probably resolve it? It's an 03 model, so pointy. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

It should be attached via a spring to the rear foot peg

The switch is activated by the srping pulling the switch dwonwards and illuminating the brake light. The switch istelf can be a little stiff sometimes and may need a little lubing or wiggle to free it. I had a similar problem with these things in some of my cars. In the end, if stiff just replace it. It should cost pennies and take minutes to replace. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

See in that picture how the body of the switch is threaded? you can adjust the point in the travel of the brake pedal that the light is activated by undoing the plastic locknut and adjusting the whole body of the switch up pr down. Sometimes you might have to pull the electrical plug off the top to stop the wires twisting too much.
Same usually applies to cars
