I have a cg125 which I use for commuting and the gearbox is playing up.
When I start my journey I cannot get it into third gear at all for about 10 mins, once I have got it in third it then becomes progressively easier to get into third. After 10 miles it rarely takes more than 2 attempts. This happens every journey and is driving me mad.
I am hoping that someone has had this problem and can offer a possible diagnosis and save me paying someone £200 to take apart my engine to investigate.
I have been using 15w40 oil and it is topped up to max.

I really appreciate any ideas or advice, thanx

Not being a true diagnostican I'll do my best.

Could having too much oil in the bike be as bad as having too little. You say the max, is this cold or hot, maximum in the engine or to the max line?

Next time it won't change, take your foot off the footpeg completely, then try it again. see what happens.

thanks guys.
In answer to your queries I topped up the oil to try and combat the problem, I first got the problem when my oil was halfway between min and max.
Also I try changing gear a few times then release my clutch cos I've slowed down, I try pulling over and putting it in neutral for a bit, I try slowly, quickly, clutch in, clutch biting, gentle, hard, begging and shouting. Nothing I can think of works until suddenly it pops in.
After that it's a bit dodgy but those first 10 mins are pissing me right off.

thanks finpos, yes it's definitely a problem with the bike itself.
I appreciate the thought though, thanks.
