It has a face like Wallace and Grommit, man they're making GiXERS ugly nowdays. That aside, its a stonling piece of kit, would love the 750 or thou.

Ride safe Wink Thumbs Up

well if you can why not!

Respect it though mate. I got my gsxr 600 as a first bike and thought i had big billy balls and then promptly stacked it so be careful. They bite harder and faster than you can blink, no exaggeration necessary.

The insurance isnt bad at all , £458 good for a first bike mind you being an old codger at 38 it could be classed as expensive , initially i looked at the GSXR 1000 but i didnt fancy the £1500 price tag on the insurance , rip off merchants .

Lovely bike mate. I picked up my Y model 750 about 6 weeks ago (have a look further down for the thread).

It's my 4th road bike. Been riding over 3 years on the road.

Just be fucking careful - it could chew you up and spit you off very easy.

I would not recommend it as a first bike - I've worked up from an NSR125, ER-5, ZZR600 so I've gained enough experience on smaller bikes to enable me to enjoy the Gixer and push it harder than you will be able to (at least for a while).

Good thing is the handling is amazing, brakes superb (I have new wavey discs and racing pads with Goodridge hoses though).

Please just take it easy - it's a great looking bike, like the paint scheme Thumbs Up

Treat it with respect (especially in the wet - it'll still spin the rear in 4th gear!) and it'll reward you once you become a more competent rider.

I do have a little riding experience yes .
I was in my younger years in a motorcycle stunt team (red macs ) , i also had a little DT 50 , followed by an MTX 125 , these were the only road bikes i had legally , but i also raod the old 250 7UP .
Then there was a gap of around ten years and then i bought myself an RM250 and that had some torque on that ( full race spec), tried my hand in a few races but never took it up seriously .
BUT IVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING ON A PAR TO THE GIXER AND IM SURE I WILL LEARN VERY QUICKLY TO TREAT IT WITH RESPECT .
