Caught doing 110 on A2 tonight. By an undercover Mondeo.
Copper was alright about it.
Asked how I was going to get to work when I'm on a 1 year ban so I said it would be difficult.
He just said to keep to speed limits and then fucked off!
I can honestly say I'm very lucky to be let off and am thinking maybe this is the time to slow down just a little. I intend keeping my licence |

Lucky one there, I reckon I need to slow down, I've noticed lots of cops in unmarked volvo's lately the white shirts and stab jackets are a dead giveaway ____________________ TL1000s, KDX200 |

Very lucky indeed - mate just been in court for 96 on a clear motorway, 5 points £180 fine. It's slowing him down, but he does have 11 points now so it ought to.
I'd take that as a 'warning' and try to limit yourself on the motorways, where it's all too easy to be pulled by a 150mph diesel Beemer or Volvo. Sure you can try to 'run for it' but all they need is your number, and whilst bikes are quick they won't dissappear in an instant...
I try to limit myself to 90-100 in the right places on motorways, and always make sure there's someone going faster than me. Any Lexus driver or Vectra/Mondeo/White Van is usually good as a 'pace car' I find |

110mph is viewed as just going out to die, whereas in reality some vehicles can sit comfortably at 100 on the M-way with as much chance of copping it as any other, and people do it.
I was over taken doing 90mph in the middle lane, it was the plod, they did nothing, 90mph is obviousy 20mph over the limit, when some coppers have spoken to me before about speeding they seemed pretty angry at my 5-6mph over.
So as i've said so many times before, it's luck of the draw, not just about going over the limit.
Yeah, you'll slow down for a bit, but you'll still be breaking the law somewhere, eventually you'll be using you bike for what it's for again at some point. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

i did 150 with pillion & it was still pulling strongly & was loving it & the vision you get past 130+ but the way i was shooting past all the cars made me think,"1 of them could be a car i dont want it to be" & eased off ____________________ GSXR750

FWIW you may have got off (I think you're saying you did) because your speedo is a bit optimistic. Had a GPS on my bike at the weekend and comparing the two, the speedo is reading a constant +10%. If yours is the same then you were just under the 'magic' 100mph that probably would have you in court.
Don't fancy calling the police to report that an unknown car on the A2 looks like its impersonating a police vehicle with blue lights behind its grill do you? ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

thats pretty lucky, ive had similar luck on the A1 coming past catterick. I got passed by a police R6 while I was sat at about 100, he didnt even bat an eyelid and gave me a thumbs up for pulling over to let him by. ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |

yeah im sure you wdnt slow down that much for corners normally, and you were thinking of your missus.
Im quite a slow rider so its nice to know im faster than someone. Although there is one other guy Im faster than, but he is stoned all the time so Im not sure he counts.
I guess the thing that amuses me is yout talk of outrunning mondeos and such, when you arent like that.
So Im quite slow, but dont talk as if Im a speed freak but I guess you just meant it as a light hearted comment in keeping with bcf siggi type stuff. ____________________ colin1 is officially faster than god |
