Hello all, am hopefully going to have my full big licence in a month or so and am looking at bikes for when i pass my test. I have a budget for the bike of around £1000 - £1200.
Ideally i want a fully faired sports/sport tourer and love the thunder cat and cbr600 but these are a touch out of budget - so was thinking of an RF600 - does any one have one as a (first) bike? If so what are your thoughts?

There's nothing wrong with the RF6 as a first bike, they were never as popular as the CBR/Cat but that means they are cheaper.

Decent turn of speed (90bhp IIRC), good roomy riding postion, you can scratch/tour/commute on one no problem, as with all older Suzuki's check the bike over very carefully before parting with any cash as the quality of finish isn't brilliant.

I had an RF9 for a short while and it was/is a very underrated bike in my opinion Smile

Also, i bought my 94' VFR750 for £1250, although it was a bit tatty, and had done 55k.

Disturbingly, i checked the oil the other day, and it looked brand new. Seriously, it was still that clear amber colour. The bike has done about 6000 miles since the last change. Dont know whether to be happy or worried about that! Shocked
