Hi All,

looking for some tyre advice...

Just bought a R6 ( 2000 ) race/track bike which has slicks on it.

Got some track days booked from Sept 11 onwards and thinking I need to get some tyres on it thats going to make riding in the sh*tty season better. Maybe something half way between slicks and wets?

Not sure what I'm talking about when it comes to track tyres. ~ still learning ~ Please Help

thanks,

J

Seems to be a good price, I paid £189 for a pair of supercorsa pro's.

Next time though I'll probably pick up a pair of scrubs at BMCRC race etc.. for much less.

Unless you're trying to win races, I'd go for part worn Supercorsas. I'm quite happy with partworn's for trackdays - it's only when I really need that extra % racing that I'd go for new ones (not that I win 'owt anyway Smile ).

As Davo says, get to a local race meeting for decent prices, usually some on ebay if not.
Or try posting on www.motoforum.com for sale section asking for some.

You can use them in the rain, but it's best if you can get some wets.
Again try asking on motoforum for partworn ones, or ebay etc.

Incidentally, gimme a shout if you need any r6 bits, including spare wheels Wink.

That looks kinda expensive for tires. Look at www.rodamoto.net . I think thay are cheapest at the moment. And indeed supercorsa`s are nice, only the sc1 isn`t imho, too difficult to set the suspension, warms up slow.
